Marcus Gerald Jones was born on December 12, 1987, in Lynchburg, VA to Rev. Dr. Waddell and Linda Jones. He has one sister, Trinae Jones. Dr. Jones is a graduate of William Campbell High School in Naruna, VA. After high school, He attended Virginia University of Lynchburg in Lynchburg VA, where he received his bachelor’s degree in Organizational Management. After getting the call to ministry, Dr. Jones attended the Samuel Dewitt Proctor School of Religion at the Virginia Union University in Richmond Va. In the spring of 2017, Dr. Jones graduated with his Master of Divinity at The Virginia University of Lynchburg. In the spring of 2020, Dr. Jones completed his doctoral work as a Leonard N. Smith Fellow at the Leonard N. Smith School of Religion at VUL. His dissertation focus was entitled “Social Media: A Positive Resource to Show and Share The Gospel”.

After 8 years of service at Altha Grove Baptist Church in Forest Va, in March of 2022, Dr. Jones was installed as the 10th Pastor of the historic Fountain Baptist Church in Baltimore, MD.

Dr. Jones is married to the former Jasmine Gates and they are the proud parents of three beautiful children, Malaya, Malachi and Micah Jones.
